Of all the home purchases in 2009, a whopping 21% were made by single females, according to The National Association of Realtors and reported by The Wall Street Journal. Only 10% were bought by single males!

Since lenders and realtors are so particular about collecting data and force borrwers to differentiate themselves into very specific demographic categories – and because the single male statistic was only 10% – I assume these “singles” stats do not include divorced, widowed, or separated folks. Which means there are a whole lot of younger, single females (like myself) who are not sitting around waiting for a man in order to put down roots and start tackling financial goals.

You go girls!
